Description
Summary:
The main purpose of this paper is to contribute to the investigations that intend to consider the text in material terms, where various discursive positions might be in confrontation. To achieve this goal, we have chosen to analyze news of a television channel as an intersemiotic text, whose materiality can be investigated concerning the complexity between the verbal and non-verbal elements. Regarding the social-reflective demand about the media coverage of the demonstrations in Brazil, we discuss the productivity of the action-through-the-word approach by the delimitation of the performative acts, according to Rocha (2014), focusing on the difficulties to their delimitation in the news texts which seem at first sight, prominently narrative.

Keywords: media discourse, telejournalism, performative acts.
