| Summary: | The article is aimed at achieving a theoretical certainty of interpretation of the concept of «competitiveness of enterprise», elaborating an actual methodology for assessing the competitiveness of a trading enterprise on the basis of certain relevant methods and key indicators of competitiveness. The reasons for the significant difference in the existing interpretations of the concept of competitiveness of enterprise are defined, and on the basis of the allocation of characteristic properties, the authors’ own vision of definition of the concept under research and its interpretation in terms of trading enterprise is presented. The indicators of competitiveness of trading enterprise are structured and the authors’ own criteria for their classification are defined. Based on the analysis of the theoretical base and drawing on the practice of trading enterprise, the authors’ vision of the methodology for assessing the competitiveness of trading enterprise is presented, the appropriate methodical and information bases are identified. Prospects for further research in this direction are detailed components of the methodology of phased assessment of competitiveness of trading enterprise; testing, updating and expanding the methodical base; development of a procedure for implementing competitive environment monitoring as a permanent part of the enterprise’s operations. |
