Description
Summary:The greening of agricultural practices is accompanied by a questioning of the anthropocentric monologue of “making on” a nature reduced to an object, allowing us to discover practices “with” a material capable of acting in the world. Nonetheless, agronomy is still struggling to define with precision the degrees and terms of the proposals for “making with” nature. The purpose of the article is to explore the diversity of its variations in agricultural systems and, more particularly, the terms of the compositions between human and non-human agents in organic market gardening in France. An ethnological study describes practices ranging from a rigidification of the production system with regard to the behaviour of natural elements, to the development of entanglements embodied by respective and mutual transformations of humans and gardens. I call the latter processes sympoietic agriculture, and we must be attentive to them in order to explore an ontological depth within the agroecological transition.
