Description
Summary:In the heterogeneous network that small cells largely deployed, the number of carriers that users need to detect when performing inter-frequency scanning compared with the traditional network scenario, exponentially, so it will consume users a lot of energy. This paper proposes a new small cells discovery strategy based on dual band connection, to solve the problems that energy consumption of users in the edge of network. This scheme uses flexible inter-frequency scanning strategy of users, to reduce the energy consumption of the user hen performing inter-frequency scanning. Compared with the existing scheme which based on fingerprint database, it is simple, feasible and has high spectrum efficiency. Simulations show that the scheme can effectively reduce the energy consumption of the user, improve effectiveness of inter-frequency scanning, and avoid high speed mobile user performing inter-frequency scan.
