Summary:Hemen was a local god worshiped in Hefat - Moalla- near Esna, he represented as a falcon like both of Sokar and Her. beside his local role, Hemen have an important existence in the netherworld, since the early rise of the ancient religious thought which embodied in the pyramid texts and later in both of coffin texts and book of the dead. Hemen described in religious books by the strong and courage which support himself in the protection of the deceased in his lower journey. And by other side, Hemen also considered a god of welfare when he send his tears to overflow lands to refresh its fertility, The same could to be observed in the role of Hemen when he exchange the guilt of deceased by virtues and good doings. In the new kingdom, since religious books became in more variety, Hemen have a fewer role in comparison with early times. The significance of the research lies in the afterlife role of this god which had nor important as a local god in Moalla in previous studies.
