Summary:In 1774 the ballad of Gottfried August Bürger entitled Lenore was published in the Göttingen magazine Musenalmanach. Very soon, this German poem became a true phenomenon that led to multiple translations and engravings of it and influenced numerous literary texts of the 19th century. Among these compositions inspired by Burger’s Lenoreis Washington Irving’s short story «The Spectre Bridegroom» The present work seeks to show that the romantic short story «Luisa» by Eugenio de Ochoa reveals the influence of both texts, both that of Bürger and that of Irving, as well as to clarify in what way and in what aspects each one of them prevails in the proposal literary of Ochoa.
