Description
Summary:The teaching of Christ and the Apostles is the key element of the revelation of God. Vatican II clearly connected the events and the words in the mystery of the revelation of God in the Dogmatic Constitution Dei Verbum, and later enhanced the importance of the explanatory word of which a proclamation is the special form. Therefore, the dogmatic constitution inspires us to reflect on the theological meaning of “the apostolic proclamation”. It begins in its specific “singular” character which points out and somehow codifies the beginning of the proclamation in the times of the Apostles. Then, it defines its meaning in the life of the Church and its “normative” influence on every proclamation within the Church. This article presents several introductory theological remarks that refer to the apostolic proclamation which, in the longer perspective, show the specific character and the meaning of the entire proclamation within the Church.
