Summary:The instantaneous meshing efficiency on both sides of the nodes of the gear is calculated respectively. The integral along the length of thread engagement is calculated for the average transmission efficiency expression of gear in meshing process. The expression of the independent variables including active tooth number z1, the transmission ratio i, the friction coefficient f and pressure angle α. The optimized design for the gear parameters of single stage cylindrical gear and two stages cone-cylindrical is carried out respectively. Taking the average efficiency to be the maximum as optimizing object, the penalty function calculation method is adopted. Considering the optimization results, a two stage cone-cylindrical reducer is built and its efficiency is above 94%. The correctness of the parameter optimization design is verified.
