description Introduction & Objectives: Life cycle psychology literature and family sociology suggest that fatherhood accelerates the personal and personality development of men. Becoming a father is one of the most profound experiences in a man's life that has a significant impact on his value system. Children's health increases when they have social, emotional and economic support from both parents. This study seemed necessary because there were challenges in our knowledge of fathers' involvement in the paternal role. The aim of this study was to determine the level of participation of Qomi fathers in paternal role and related factors in 2015.Methods: The research was applied, descriptive and analytical and the data were collected using a questionnaire. The Sample size included 226 fathers who were randomly selected in public maternity hospitals in Qom. The information related to this study was described after entering the SPSS software using central indicators and dispersion and statistical tables of the target population. In the data analysis section, Pearson test and analysis of variance were used. Results: The results showed a high mean of participation. There was a significant relationship between participation with age, level of education, birth rate of children and wanted or unwanted pregnancy. There was no relationship between participation with infant gender, economic status, place of birth, smoking, place of residence, ethnicity and occupation. Conclusion: There seems to be a long way to go before men become a real conscious and contributing father.
