Summary:With the aim of studying the fermentation of syngas, this work presents an integrated gasification with syngas fermentation process using the Aspen PlusTM. A reaction mechanism for the decomposition of sugarcane bagasse was used to represent the pyrolysis. The influence of operating conditions as gasifier temperature, oxidizing agents and gas composition in the fermentation were investigated for the production of ethanol by syngas fermentation. The simulation showed good results according to the validation with experimental data.
