Summary: | Within the framework of a research on the teaching/learning of Romani in Serbia, this contribution offers an analytical look into the reception and the implementation of the Romani language in schools as planned by the official policies. In addition, it attempts to identify the attitudes of educational actors towards the teaching of standard Romani in order to uncover the glottopolitical micro-acts adopted in the classroom. These micro-political actions, while contradicting official policies, will reconfigure the Romani classroom in the school. This study focuses on the analysis of observations of Romani classes and interviews with educational actors in an elementary school in Serbia.
