Description
Summary:The “Earthquake Disaster Museum” proposed by Kikuchi Yoshio would undertake all aspects of the safeguarding and promotion of cultural properties affected by the earthquake of 11 March 2011 and the ensuing nuclear disaster. Focused on materials salvaged from the Fukushima coastline with a recognised historical, cultural or natural value, the museum would be responsible for managing their preservation. Additionally, it would act as a centre for collecting information relating to the two disasters and ensure its efficient and long-lasting dissemination at a national and international level. Kikuchi Yoshio therefore urge the prompt creation of such an establishment through the joint efforts of national and local parties, the scientific community and relevant international institutions.
