description In order to analyze and master gas distribution and movement law in goaf with parallel double U-shape ventilation mode, a CFD model was established according to characteristics of parallel double U-shape ventilation system of fully mechanized coal mining face at a coal mine, and the model was used to do numerical simulation of goaf gas movement law with parallel double U-shape ventilation mode. The analysis results show that parallel double U-shape ventilation mode applied in fully mechanized coal mining face can reduce gas flow of goaf and upper corner because most of goaf gas is discharged into auxiliary return airway with air leakage due to action of connection airway at goaf upper corner, so as to solve problem of gas overrun on fully mechanized coal mining face effectively.
