An Electric Power Generator for Dual Grid with an Single Thermal Energy Source

This paper presents a system for power supply with two independent grids when using a single source of heat. A steam turbine will convert heat to electrical power in synchronous process. A second power generator is mechanically coupled to the shaft of the first system. The simulation used is correla...

description This paper presents a system for power supply with two independent grids when using a single source of heat. A steam turbine will convert heat to electrical power in synchronous process. A second power generator is mechanically coupled to the shaft of the first system. The simulation used is correlation with real systems. The experiment demonstrates the possibility of using the conversion system when it is supplying two independent grids. The presented solution can be generalized for many power supply grids when is it used an adequate sizing of the steam turbine. The thermal energy can be taken from industrial processes or from renewable energy sources.
