This article refers to the topic of safety and health of health workers based on the International Labour Organization/World Health Organization "Caring for those who care" programme. In this sense, and considering this aspect as a priority for public health, the importance of prevention and protection of these personnel is emphasized. Worldwide, it is a health problem rarely well valued, mainly in professionals who provide their services under special conditions, either in their countries or outside them.
