Summary: | The transitional status of the Russian economy makes it relevant to consider the issue of the particular features of human capital regeneration in countries with similar levels of economic development. Considering the fact that under conditions of global crisis and geopolitical confrontation, the divergence of interests become clearly noticeable between the developed and developing economies as well as the unification of interests of countries with similar tendencies of development, but still the group of BRIC countries is of special interest. Brazil, India and China are comparable to Russia in terms of population and economic potential and lately are often used as a basis for comparison with it. The article analyzes the main trends of human capital regeneration in BRIC countries with regard to the fact that knowledge, experience, skills and information are becoming the new raw materials in the global economy. It is shown that the governments of these countries consider the quality of human capital as a critical factor in changing the existing system of international differentiation of labor and national well-being. It is proven that the dominance of several developed countries in the global economy and the limited participation of the majority of other, less developed countries causes the latter to compete in the global struggle for human capital. Accordingly, special attention to the quality of human capital in Russia is an important competitive factor for its development.
