Summary: | This article reflects on mem ory and literature, both in a hermeneutic perspective. It shows that both literary writings and documents and/or historical archives must be interpreted. This means they are not to be understood by what they say, but also by experiences they witness in within the text. What readers learn from this historical and literary narrative is life itself, which remains a mystery; however, they can understand the meanings through which life is manifested – its categories. One of these categories manifests itself in the artistic writings: esthetic and its opposite – ethic. Literature can be seen as a rehearsed piece that operates in the frame of life – in the specific manifestation of the language. |
