description | In order to investigate the characteristics of lightning current amplitude in Beijing area, the distribution law of current intensity and the cumulative probability distribution of current amplitude are analyzed based on ADTD data of 2009-2016. The results show that 155, 567 flashes occurred in Beijing area in the past eight years, among which 99.5% are the 0-200 kA flashes. The number of lightning strikes greater than 300 kA decreased significantly in the area since 2012. The distribution range of positive lightning current amplitude is scattered. Its average current intensity is 63.5 kA. The maximum amplitude is 953.9 kA. Meanwhile, negative lightning is relatively concentrated. Its average current intensity is 33.9 kA. The maximum is 992.7 kA. Winter thunderstorms are mainly negative polarity. Although the frequency is small, its average intensity is greater. In addition, the expression of total lightning current amplitude cumulative probability is mainly affected by negative lightning. The expression recommended by the IEEE working group can objectively reflect the distribution characteristics in Beijing area. |
