Summary:Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is neurodegenerative disorder common among elderly involving deficits in memory and cognition. There has been a long history of research and medical practice in AD worldwide, during which different facts came into light. During recent decades with new technologies being integrated, progress has been made in finding new genes responsible for AD, but diagnosis and treatment. In this review we will focus on molecular, genetic and other evidence underlying the known AD pathology.
