| description | It was proceeded to a descriptive, prospective study from January 2008 to December 2012 in Burn Units at “José Luis Miranda " Children's Hospital of Santa Clara City, Villa Clara province , in order to describe the effect of hydrochloride ketamine in sedoanalgesia of large pediatric burn patient . 29 patients who met the selection criteria established were administered a dose of ketamine hydrochloride of 0.5mg/kg/h by continuous infusion for 15 days. Pain scales to assess the level of analgesia, degree of sedation and the welfare state were applied in patients. 80.3 % of children remained without pain; 100% was evaluated in adequate sedation and state of comfort and sedo - analgesic effect showed a downward trend after ten days of treatment without adverse events arose. Ketamine hydrochloride at the dose tested achieved a sedo - analgesic proper effect. |
