The treatment and control period was about 12 months. In FR2 group the average chronological age was 9.72± 1.07 years old; in headgear group 9.87± 0.72 years old and in control group 9.92± 0.91 years old. The changes caused by growth and treatment were assessed by means of pretreatment and posttreatment lateral cephalograms. While evaluating the adaptations, both conventional and geometric analyses were used. In this study it was clearly seen that the effect of the treatment with FR2 on the maxilla is minimal when compared with the changes observed both in headgear treatment and in untreated group. The FR2 appliance stimulated mandibular growth. |
