description The article describes the origins and essence of convenience food, its classifications, and consumer opinions and attitudes. It was concluded that, despite the universality and the unflagging popularity of convenience foods, there is the view that users of this category of products have very different levels of knowledge about its nature and nutritional value and health. Contemporary consumers strongly and positively perceive it, show great knowledge of different types and attributes. Though, the most important reasons are connected with the fact that they come back home late due to their absorbing work and have no time for food preparation. Thus convenience food is easy and fast. The availability of a wide and diverse offer is also very significant.
