description Stressors of various natures impact the work of oncology health professionals. The present study aimed to perform the adaptation to Brazil of the Inventory of Stressors in Oncology and to test evidences of its validity. The inventory was applied to 384 professionals, most of them females from the Southeast region, with a mean working time in oncology of 9.4 years. Exploratory and confirmatory factorial analysis, evaluation of scale reliability and invariance among nurses and other occupational categories were conducted. The analyzes confirmed the quantity of dimensions of the original model, but recommended the reduction of the quantity of items to a five-dimension structure and 25 items. The results suggest that this is an instrument with good psychometric properties, which endorse its use in Brazilian samples.
