Summary:During a research program which tries to highlight the temporal characteristics of the scholarship beneficiaries for the preparatory classes for France's “Grandes Écoles”, we focused on the high school students who aspire to these extremely competitive, high-level programs. From a quantitative approach we tried to identify their temporal experience and made a comparison with existing studies. The results of this part of the research underlines a strong similarity between aspirants and the « préparationnaires » (actual students of the the preparatory classes for France's “Grandes Écoles”), along with a certain homogeneity of their temporal cultures within an open future which monitoring remains difficult to apprehend.
