Description
Summary:New Inscriptions from Olympos and Its Territory IThe article presents seven new inscriptions discovered in the course of a project aimed at clearing wild vegetation from the urban area of Olympos. Two of these inscriptions stem from the original city on Mount Musa Dağı. Particularly noteworthy is the inscription (no. 3) commemorating the erection of the baths under Vespasian, making them the oldest dateable building complex in the harbour city of Korykos, which later became Olympos. Special mention may also be made of two votive inscriptions (no. 5) dedicated by a stationarius and a praetorianus respectively. Both soldiers probably did service in or around Olympos in the later 3rd century.
