This is due to international managers’ migrations as temporary or transit migrations passing over Turkish territories. As emigration country, Turkey had forgotten its traditional and historic role of migrations bridge since thousands of years ! Istanbul, as private sector’s economic metropolis of the Turkish Republic, with its 12 million inhabitants, is nowadays a cosmopolitan city, in spite of the choice in year 1923 of Ankara as new capital of Turkey. Called a world-city by historians and geographers, the city brasses since a couple of centuries intern and temporary migrations, refugees and repatriates, expatriates and foreigners in all domains. The airport function has been added to ancient harbour and caravanning functions of Byzantium, Constantinople and old ottoman Istanbul. Shuttle tourists and irregular migrants in transit have been agglomerated to the internal migrants’ integration and international migration stopover toward Western Europe |
