Summary:The Hizmet Movement is a Turkish transnational Islamic movement with a missionary character, led by charismatic religious leader Fethullah Gülen. Present in about 140 countries, the Movement established itself in Brazil in 2004 as part of a civilizational project to morally reform global society. This article analyzes the Hizmet community in Brazil and examines how they have built their identity, showing how Turkish ethnicity and religious nationalism are articulated in this process.
