Summary: | The aim of the study was to describe qualitative-quantitative characteristics of alexithymia in persons regularly engaged in Wellness yoga. The study involved 62 adult subjects, grouped into two groups. The main group included people practicing Hatha yoga and Iyengar yoga, the control group included people who are not engaged in sports activities. Methodical complex amounted tools for diagnosing the level of alexithymia and related emotional and personal characteristics. There was no statistically significant difference in the level of alexithymia between the examined groups, however, the descriptive statistics and the results of a qualitative analysis of the data indicate the presence of qualitative-quantitative specifics of the alexithymic symptoms in people practicing yoga. |
