Description
Summary:The growing nature of the city of Erbil under a relatively prosperous economy has led to the establishment of many private and public institutions, including hospitals and clinical facilities. The locations of these establishments and their relations with the city’s network have not been studied enough. This research is trying to check the positions of these hospitals and compare their effect on the city through space syntax. Hospitals of Erbil are counted and classified into local and global. Then an axial analysis is run to identify the local and global cores of the city. The third step is to compare the locations of these hospitals with the syntactic values of their positions. The research found that large hospitals are more compatible with their positions than the local ones, and there are neighborhoods in the city that still lack their local hospitals.
