In the modern world hypothyroidism is no longer considered to be a complication of surgical treatment for Graves' disease (diffuse toxic goiter) and I therapy131, but became their goal. At the same time, hypothyroidism remains the only irrefutable and vital indication for prescribing thyroid hormones.
