Summary:In a time when industrialization and urbanization rates reach even higher, and lack of green spaces is becoming more acute, it appears the issue of air quality both inside and outside. This problem was approached by researchers at NASA in the late 80s for the first time. Since then, worldwide researchers have tried to discover the beneficial effects that plants have on quality of life and how they can be used for maximum effect. Following these studies it has been produced lists of plants that have the best ability to refresh the air in the room and to absorb the largest amount of toxins. These plants, called generically "purifying" are used because of their therapeutic qualities and also for their decorative attributes, to complete the decoration of offices, classrooms of the school or hospital wards.
