description The aim of the research – to study the component composition of the body of children following a long-term dairy-free diet using the method of bioimpedance analysis. Materials and methods. 40 children of primary school age who follow a long-term dairy-free diet for various reasons were examined (group 1). The control group consisted of 30 healthy children of the same age who did not adhere to any dietary restriction. All children had their body composition determined by bioimpedance analysis. Results. In children who follow a dairy-free diet, certain changes in body composition were detected. Among this group, a significantly large proportion of children with a decrease in the volume of body fat mass was revealed – 25.0 ± 6.8 %, compared to children of the control group – 3.3 ± 3.3 %. A large proportion of children with a decrease in active cell mass was found – 30.0 ± 7.2 %, compared to the control group – 6.7 ± 4.6 %. The reduced phase angle of bioimpedance was reduced in 35.0 ± 7.5 % of children of the main group, which was statistically significantly higher compared to children of the control group – 10.0 ± 5.5 %. Conclusion. Children who follow a dairy-free diet have certain changes in the indicators of bioimpedance analysis relative to traditionally fed children, which can be regarded as changes in the nutritional status of these children and the tendency to develop somatic pathology.
