Summary: | OBJECTIVE: This study was conducted to determine the opinions of health employees who work in public hospitals in İstanbul, about the health transformation project. METHODS: This study was cross sectional and descriptive. Haphazard sample method was used in the study. In content of the study, 745 health employees who were working in public hospitals in Istanbul were reached and data were collected from 413 of them.
Data were collected by a survey form that contents first section which has questions that aimed to define age, gender, occupation and institution of the participants; second section that has some statements about the health transformation and requires choices as 'yes, no' and the third section that has three Likert type (agree, neither agree nor disagree, disagree) statements.
RESULTS: It was found that health employees mostly confirmed the statements which are 'hospitals are transformed to operations' (%67,1, n: 277) and 'patients were seen as costumers' (%66,8, n: 276) statements. Also it was determined that health employees agreed with the statement that is 'at the end of the health transformation process, health services were commercialized' (%87,4, n: 361). CONCLUSION: According to the findings of this study, it may be said that health employees see health transformation project as a process that makes health area more commercial.
