description Since the use of mobile social networks is prevalent among the students, the present study is aimed to predict the degree of dependence on social networks through the goals of using these networks among students of the 9th regional universities. The research method is descriptive-correlational. The research instrument was a researcher-made questionnaire with questions about research variables and its validity and reliability were confirmed. The statistical population consisted of all universities in 9 countries (11 universities), among which 6 universities were distributed and collected in a Stratified random manner through a researcher-made questionnaire. Data were analyzed by SPSS software. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for data analysis (one sample t-test, Pearson correlation, simple linear regression and multiple regression). The results showed that social network dependency was higher than average and positive correlation was found between leisure time goals, communication with relatives, diversity in service use, and record sharing in the likes. There is a score of 0.37 and these goals predict 14.3% of students' affiliation to mobile social networks. therefore, suggested that by using extremist social networks, responsible agencies design and run programs to raise awareness of the diverse services of these networks to fill students' leisure time usefully.
