Summary:This article aims to confront the text “Dois poetas”, of 1948, written by Gilda de Mello e Souza, published in the Revista Brasileira de Poesia, with the “Introdução” of Estrela da vida inteira, of 1965, written by Gilda de Mello e Souza herself and Antonio Candido. With the lecture and analysis, the objective is to ascertain relations between their tract with Manuel Bandeira’s poetry, paying attention, also, to the publications’ contexts of the essays in the Revista Brasileira de Poesia and in the “Introdução”, that introduces the last reunion by Bandeira of all his work’s poetry.
