Turkey, which was in the monopoly of the state as the country strove to integrate with the Western economic system, as a means of political communication by governments from 1946 when Turkey transitioned to a multiparty political system to the establishment of the Turkish State Radio and Television (TRT) in 1964 remains a controversial subject. This article attempts to make a social and
political assessment of radio broadcasting during this period. The research entailed a survey of bibliographical sources relating to previous studies, and the documents thus obtained were evaluated according to the conditions prevalent at the time to be used as data sources. |
