The investigation is a comparative analyses of the study carried out by Rodrigues, Almeida, Antunes and Vianna, with the aim to establish and identify the main points that have produced the discussions on this subject concerning the different theoretical interpretations as well as the praxis of the syndicate movement. The study is divided into three parts: The first, examines the syndicalism during the populist period; the second, examines the emergency context of the syndicalism and its main characteristics; finally, it’s sought to establish the ruptures and continuities in the relationship syndicate/State under the perspective of the authors and its consequences to the syndicate movement in Brazil.
