description The functioning of anti-Bolshevik governments’ prisons in the years of the Civil War (1918 – 1922) was addressed in a number of research papers. Soviet historiography contains a considerable number of works, covering the brutal detention regime. However, there are not enough studies of the everyday work of prisons. Little is known about the regulatory framework, structure, subordination, management and staff of these institutions. This publication is intended to give an idea of the chiefs of prisons in Eastern Siberia.
