| description | The essay focuses on the birth-place memories that one preserves once he moves away. Do we maintain some memory of our original places over time? Is it possible to build our memories’ geography or the bonds with our progenitors grow dim during our life? Looking at some passed experiences, the author underlines that the new generations have no tendencies to come back to their birth-places. The decline in birth and ageing characterize the Italian population. Hence the idea of returning in itself needs to be interpreted in a broader perspective. Returning is not necessarily coming back to the homeland, but a more flexible inclination to mobility, which, differently, produces new forms of repopulations and revives communities in marginal areas.
Memoria e ritorno ai luoghi di origine
Il saggio si focalizza sui ricordi del luogo di nascita che si conservano una volta che ci si allontana. Conserviamo un pò di memoria dei nostri luoghi originari nel tempo? È possibile costruire la geografia dei nostri ricordi o i legami con i nostri progenitori si affievoliscono nel corso della nostra vita? Guardando ad alcune esperienze passate, l’autore sottolinea che le nuove generazioni non hanno la tendenza a tornare nei loro luoghi di nascita. Il declino delle nascite e l’invecchiamento caratterizzano la popolazione italiana. Da qui l’idea del ritorno in sé va interpretata in una prospettiva più ampia. Il ritorno non è necessariamente un ritorno in patria, ma una più flessibile propensione alla mobilità che, diversamente, produce nuove forme di ripopolamento e fa rivivere comunità in aree marginali. |
