description Alternative fuel (RDF) is known as stable and safe energy source for the cement and energy industries. In connection with the quality standards of the main recipients of RDF, there is a need for a comprehensive look at issues related to the production of fuels from waste so as to ensure the efficiency of the high-calorie waste management process. Therefore, the purpose of the work was to develop variant recipes for alternative fuels on the basis of separate high-calorie waste streams together with the determination of conditions and relationships determining their use. In order to achieve the purpose of the paper the following elements were prepared: balance of municipal and industrial waste streams that may constitute raw materials for the production of alternative fuels in the selected study area (Poland); set of factors and dependencies conditioning the course of the design process of RDF; matrix covering groups of waste materials, enabling the initial formulation of recepis. The presented results supplement the existing research in the field of alternative fuels with new prospective research directions and systematize knowledge of using new waste streams in the process of designing new alternative fuels.
