Description
Summary:Professional and religious corporations in the Roman world have been the subject of several in-depth studies. The results achieved by the authors were generalized to all provinces, but there were specificities in each province that were not taken into consideration. Such is the case of colleges of cultores deorum in Roman Africa. The aim of this study is to define their characters and their place in society. We have recorded 41 inscriptions which show that these colleges played an important role in the religious and social life in the African city during the Early Empire.
