Summary:This article analyzed the use of alternative languages (TV, video, photography, cartoons, dramatic art, tales for kids and music) as subsidy to Geography classes in a public school in Itabuna-Ba. It was verified by a survey, that most of students prefer to participate in classes when the teacher applies different languages, according to them, this kind of classes become more pleasant and dynamic. The teacher of the analyzed classes reported through interview that most of alternative languages are not used regularly. Nevertheless, she admitted, that students participate more in her classes when different technologies are applied. &#13; Key words: alternatives languages, teaching- learning of Geography, didactics resources.<br>O artigo analisou o uso de linguagens alternativas (TV/vídeo, fotografia, charge/cartum/histórias em quadrinhos e teatro/dramatização e a musica) como subsídio às aulas de Geografia em uma escola estadual de Itabuna-BA. Foi constatado, através de questionários, que a maioria dos alunos gosta de participar de aulas em que o professor utiliza diferentes liguagens, pois, segundo eles, as aulas se tornam mais dinamicas e agradáveis. A professora das turmas pesquisadas relatou através de entrevista, que utiliza a maioria das linguagens alternativas supracitadas de forma esporádica, mas que os alunos participam mais das aulas quando ela utiliza diferentes metodologias em suas aulas.&#13; Palavras-chave: Linguagens alternativas; ensino-aprendizagem de Geografia; recursos didáticos.
