description Investigation of endothelial function is a promising direction in the study of hemorrhagic vasculitis. The aim of the study was to investigate the structural and functional state of the vascular endothelium. Materials and methods. 48 children aged 4 to 17 years with the diagnosis of hemorrhagic vasculitis were examined. Results. The study of flow-mediated dilatation of the brachial artery showed that 87 % of patients had vasoconstriction in the symptomatic period of the disease, and 56 % of patients — in the recovery period. The thickness of the intima-media complex of the common carotid artery in patients with mild and moderate-to-severe course of hemorrhagic vasculitis did not differ from values in children of the control group. Children with severe hemorrhagic vasculitis in the acute phase of the disease had significantly higher result compared to the children from the control group. Conclusions. When comparing indicators of intima-media complex of the common carotid artery, a positive dynamics was revealed during the therapy. However, values of flow-mediated dilatation remained negative, reflecting probably the lag of the biological repair of the inflammatory process from the indicators of clinical remission.
