description The professional status and characteristics of mineral processing were discussed along with the importance of innovative personnel training for mineral processing engineering. Reform ideas and models for the mineral processing engineering education system were suggested to formulate and implement new training program for the mineral processing specialty. It is suggested to strengthen engineering training practices, cultivate the culture of innovation, and improve innovative education system and insisting on the combination of teaching with production and scientific research as the important means of training innovative talents for mineral processing engineering.
