description The concept of “Development” from the neoliberal vision presents no positive results in social or natural material. Alternative models that advocate “Good Living”, born in Bolivia and Ecuador, face the concept of development as a break with capitalism. This paradigm presents the impossibility to transfer to the practice the guiding principles, loses its paradigm condition by applying the same tools and methodologies on the territory that refer to development. The aim of this paper is to raise the existing discussion between these contradictory models originally to infer an alternative view from the Ecuadorian constitutional reality. This will define the epistemological framework for generating one opening to proposals that address the socio-ecological transition posed Good Living. This disruptive sense cannot be resolved by reinterpreting the concept of development. A theoretical and methodological restructuring that allow more equitable ways to address the territory is needed.
