Summary:This article is part of an interuniversity research project that helps to revisit the professional memory of the Chilean Social Work during the period 1973-1990, in the context of the civic-military dictatorship. The study presents an analysis on the participation of the science of Social Work, which was included in the practice of non-governmental organizations’ interdisciplinary teams, in defending human rights. The article emphasizes the main contributions of the Social Work in contexts of resistance for the professional development of Social Workers within a country in a permanent state of exception.
