Summary:The article presents the results of a study concerning development and implementation of electronic logbook for recording the students’ progress (cadets, students) in the National Academy of State Border Guard Service of Ukraine named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky as an effective instrument of rationalization of the educational process. A positive result is achieved through more efficient use of working time of scientific and teaching staff, the possibility of early detection of learning problems, predict and compensate for further learning activities of students (cadets, students). Current journal layout has been designed to spreadsheet MS Excel, but subsequently proposed to build electronic journal-based network architecture "client-server". Electronic Journal of students progress is built on the principles of objectivity, impartiality, flexibility, affordability, convenience and security.
