description The environmental building rating systems are constantly developed through several research works. Current rating systems can benefit from each other if any of them includes useful concepts that may raise the other systems’ evaluation efficiency. Thus, a question about the possibility of including the Building Environmental Efficiency (BEE) indicator in the point-scoring environmental building rating systems appears, and this indicator was used in the Japanese rating system which is the “Comprehensive Assessment System for Building Environmental Efficiency” (CASBEE). It is considered the deepest eco-efficiency expression and the most comprehensive relationship between a building and its environment, but the way of its usage in CASBEE reduces the possibility of knowing the items’ results separately when needed. Therefore, this research paper aims to propose some ways to include BEE in the different environmental building rating systems, to achieve a more efficient assessment without exposing to the cons of the used way in CASBEE. Keywords: Building Environmental Efficiency (BEE), Comprehensive Assessment System for Building Environmental Efficiency (CASBEE), Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM), Environmental quality (Q), Environmental load (L)
