description There was a significant expansion of production of sugarcane from the second half of the 2000s in Brazil, especially in new areas of cultivation, such as in the state of Goiás. A research structure oriented to the segment supported this expansion, which is associated with environmental, social and economic impacts. The aim of this paper is to identify how technology producers for the sector realize these impacts. The results show a perception that emphasizes the economic aspects and tends to underestimate the environmental and social impacts. The perception of researchers (technology producers) and sugarcane businessmen tends to be similar. Approaches the business segments of this sector. Keywords: Environmental Impacts; Technological Innovation; Expansion of Sugarcane Production.
