Description
Summary:The attempt to comprehensive analysis of the dynamics of political leadership motivation is made in the article. It is considered the transformation of the specificity of the political actor’s motivational sphere during three stages of forming its motivation. It is determined that at the first stage – the stage of the political leadership’s motivation conception – the motivational sphere of a politician is characterized by the dominance of the motive for achieving success, the motives of power and control, and the motive of affiliation. The motivational new formation of this stage can be marked as «the primary» motivation of political leadership. The specifics of the second stage of the motivation of political leadership – the stage of its functioning – are revealed. It has the personality’s orientation on itself and the relationship with others, the motive for receiving approval, the motive for avoiding failure and the utilitarian motive. The motivational new formation of this stage is political consistency – a complex of stable, formed motives and behavioral reactions that ensure the daily work of a political actor in the political system. The analysis of the third stage of the motivation of political leadership – the stage of its development – is characterized by supersituative activity, the predominance of the aspiration to solve strategic tasks, the adoption of non-conformal political decisions for the high purpose, the increase of the experience of own responsibility, the dominance of the focus on the task. It is noted that these stages can occur in the indicated sequence, as well as exist independently of each other. It is also noted that at each stage of political leadership motivation there is a certain selection of people who want to become a political leader. It is stated that the formation and maturation of the motivation of political leadership is a complex multilevel process
